The Identification and Analysis of Benzodiazepines under International Control: I. Colour Tests and Chromatographic Methods

Abstract

At its eight special session in February 1981, the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs decided to place 33 benzodiazepines under international control. Since, at that time, analytical data / reference materials were not available for most of the newly scheduled benzodiazepines, this and a subsequent publication were intended to fill this gap.

This first part concerns presumptive colour tests, as well as chromatographic techniques. Data yielded by other methods are presented in a subsequent publication (see SCITEC/4).
