SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Target 7.1: By 2030, ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services

UNODC's Alternative Development Programmes implement strategies tailored to the specific priorities of different illicit crop cultivating regions with a view to provide farmers with sustainable, self- sufficient, economically viable alternatives to illicit crop cultivation. As part of its initiatives, UNODC also assists Member States in implementing electrification projects, in order to address the underlying problem of geographical and infrastructural marginalization of regions where illicit crops are cultivated, thus permanently restructuring the economy of such regions and opening doors to shift to licit and income generating alternatives.
