Looking for Interns

Drug Abuse Prevention Team at Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit at the Headquarters of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna, is constantly looking for interns in the area of psychology, social work, public health, and education to work on issues related to drug abuse prevention among young people.

UNODC focuses on prevention approaches that have a strong scientific evidence base, mainly family skills training and life skills education. Other areas of prevention work that we support are: workplace prevention, the use of alternative activities to prevent drug abuse and activities directed to those who are specifically vulnerable and at risk of drug use.

Interns are often asked to work on assignments such as research and review scientific articles and evidence and programmes in the areas of drug abuse prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration, summarise and write short reports on good practices and scientific evidence in drug abuse prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration, a ssist in the preparation of conferences and meetings, compile, prepare and edit training materials related to UNODC prevention and treatment activities, prepare and edit UNODC prevention and treatment materials to be put on the website, and draft and create PR materials on prevention and treatment topics.
