VIENNA, Austria - October 2016: The UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Section has released the second issue of the Information Bulletin for Latin America and the Caribbean which presents an overview of national early warning systems in the region. Given the rapid spread of NPS, some Latin American countries such as Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay have established or are in the process of establishing their own national Early Warning Systems (EWS). The publication provides a detailed description of the progress in establishing national early warning systems in the region as a mechanism for information exchange on emerging drugs.
