Methamphetamine seizure by MDT in Kabul

On Friday, 05 July 2019, Kabul Mobile Detection Team (MDT) based on the intelligence report received from the Sensitive Investigation Unit (SIU), stopped and searched a MAN truck vehicle in Sang-e- Naweshta (southern) checkpoint of Kabul city which resulted into seizure of 49 kilogrammes of   methamphetamine locally known as Shisha. The seized methamphetamine was professionally concealed inside the false partition made in fuel tank of the truck. Drug traffickers intended to take the methamphetamine from the western Farah province to Nangarhar province. Two suspects were also arrested in relation to this case.

The seizure and arrests by MDT highlight the high standard of work now being conducted by the teams and their role as an action arm for CNPA intelligence led operations.
