UNODC and CARICC conducted a training course on methods of data analysis and processing for law enforcement officers of Tajikistan

On 17-21 May, UNODC and CARICC сonducted a five-day training course on methods of data analysis and processing with the use of specialized analytical software tools for ten mid-level law enforcement officers of Tajikistan appointed as border liaison officers at the Ayvaj and Pakhtaobod border crossing points on the Tajik-Uzbek border. The training was held at the Training Center of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The training equipped the law enforcement officers with advanced knowledge and skills on intelligence collection, processing, analysis, visualization and systematization of data with the help of analytical software tools - Excel and IBM “i2”.

The training provided both theoretical and practical skills to the participants. Upon completion of the training, the participants were awarded certificates.

The training was delivered by experts from the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC).

The training was conducted within the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Component of Sub-programme 1 “Countering transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking and preventing terrorism” of the UNODC Programme for Central Asia. The component is funded by the Government of Japan.
