UNODC and Tajik NGO Launch a New App on Importance of HIV Testing

25 October 2019, Dushanbe, Tajikistan - The "Tajik Network of Women Living with HIV" NGO with the support of UNODC Programme Office in Tajikistan introduced a "Find out your HIV status" mobile application as a part of the UNODC Programme for Central Asia, funded by UBRAF (UNAIDS Unified Budget, Results and Accountability Framework). The application was presented during the round table on Introduction of information and communication technologies in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment organized by the NGO Tajik Network of Women Living with HIV .

Over 23 representatives of the Ministry of Health, international and local NGOs attended the round table. The participants highlighted the importance and timeliness of the application and their confidence that this app will help in raising the people's awareness.

The "Find out your HIV status" mobile application aims to motivate key population groups to get tested and find out their status. The mobile application consists of information about HIV, testing for the risk of HIV infection, legal and social protection of PLHIV (people living with HIV), HIV prevention and treatment. It is available in Tajik and Russian languages.
