UNODC Programme Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Gives Prizes to winners of a video/photo/art contest!

UNODC POKYR is launching an art contest for youth of Bishkek between the age of 13-20 to participate in the multimedia (video, photo, or 2D-3D art works) competition devoted to the “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” Global Campaign.

Violence against women and girls is a severe crime which takes many different form and Participants are requested to submit artworks that represent and depicts their response to the following ideas: 

  • How do I personally prevent violence against women and girls
  • My ideal world without violence against women and girls

To participate, you should:

  • Subscribe to @UNODCCentralAsia facebook account
  • Display your video on your social media platform (facebook or instagram) as a text accompanying with the photo or video/ reels or TikTok

Requirements:

Video:

  • The video should not be more than 1 minute, regular video or Reels and TikTok;
  • The size should not be more than 250 Mb;
  • Cover one or both goals listed above;
  • Videos should respect and be in line with copyright of other authors;
  • Submissions should not have any visible watermarks, signatures, or personally identifiable information.

Photo

  • Participant may submit no more than one photo;
  • Cover one or both goals listed above;
  • Entries must be saved in JPEG format;
  • Submission size must be no smaller than 1024×768 pixels;
  • The size should not be more than 250mb;
  • Entrants should retain high-resolution and TIFF files, if applicable, of their submissions;
  • A submission must be an original photograph, digital or analog, taken by the participant;
  • Participant declares that she/he is the author of the photographs and the owner of their copyright and of the right to use the image;
  • Submissions should not have any visible watermarks, signatures, or personally identifiable information;
  • Submitted photograph cannot be significantly retouched: nothing in the photograph (people, animals, scenery, objects, etc.) may be altered, removed, augmented or rearranged. Cropping is permitted, as is modest darkening or lightening of parts of the image.

Design/art work

  • Work can be submitted in 2D or 3D format;
  • Cover one or both goals listed above;
  • Artwork must be created by the participant and must not contain any elements that are protected by someone else’s copyright or otherwise subject to third-party intellectual property or proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights;
  • Submissions should not have any visible watermarks, signatures, or personally identifiable information.

PARTICIPANTS

The competition is held among young people aged 13-20 years. Both individual and collective works are accepted (indication of the responsible person is mandatory).

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

The selection process will be based on the following criteria:

Adherence to the theme (50%)

Creativity (30%)

Innovative means of delivering the message (10 %)

Aesthetic qualities (10 % )

Entries may be submitted between 1 December to 14 December 2022.

The winners will be announced on 19 December 2022.

By submitting artwork to the contest, the contestant and a parent/legal guardian affirm that they have obtained written consent from all individuals whose image or likeness appears in the video or photograph, and that they have obtained the necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to use all material such as music, images, text and other content in the submission. The contestant and a parent/legal guardian further affirm that they are prepared to provide reliable documentation of any and all such consents, licenses, etc., upon request. Failure to obtain such rights, license consents, and permissions may result in the disqualification of the photo submission at UNODC’s sole and absolute discretion

Participants retail all copyrights to their submission. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime retain the right to publish the contest entries in any format to congratulate or feature the winners and their respective images, and to promote future campaign against gender-based violence, as well as for awareness-raising purposes for the work of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Winning images will be included in a press release for third party websites and publications in the context of congratulating and/or featuring the winners and winning images, and to promote future
