UNODC ROCA marked the UN day at Wunderkind Study school in Tashkent

 

On 28 October UNODC ROCA in cooperation with Wunderkind Study school in Tashkent marked the UN day which is celebrated on October 24 with the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. The event brought together the leader students at the school and their parents representing different countries. 

There is no other global organization with the legitimacy, convening power and normative impact of the United Nations. No other global organization gives hope to so many people for a better world and can deliver the future we want. Today, the urgency for all countries to come together, to fulfil the promise of the nations united, has rarely been greater. 

 

At the event, Gulnar Kudaybergenova, the UNODC National Officer, briefed about a history of establishment of the United Nations and shared in detail the information on UNODC activities in the Central Asian region.

 

The event was continued by representing the UN Member States by school students and their parents from Uzbekistan, Armenia, South Korea, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, China, Russia, UAE, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan. The presentations were accompanied by national dances. 

Svetlana Min, the Principal of the Wunderkind Study School expressed the readiness to build a partnership with UNODC ROCA with the purpose to cooperate in future and organize youth events, including Model United Nations Conferences for high school students.
