The sixteenth session of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Prevention of Corruption will be held in Vienna from 17-20 June 2025, jointly with the first resumed sixteenth session of the Implementation Review Group.

On 28 January 2025, the secretariat circulated note verbale CU 2025/15(A)-(B)/DTA/CEB/TSS inviting States parties to share information on initiatives and practices in place regarding topics a) (corruption involving organized criminal groups) and f) (judicial integrity and ethics as well as integrity in the criminal justice system), with a view to informing the discussions of the Working Group.
In line with the requirement of the Resolution 10/8 entitled “Protection of Reporting persons” adopted by the Conference of States Parties at its tenth session in December 2023, UNODC is developing an international study on best practices and challenges in the protection of reporting persons. The findings of that study will be presented at the sixteenth session of the Working Group on Prevention.
In line with this requirement, on 23 December 2024, the secretariat circulated note verbale CU 2024/400(A)(B)/DTA/CEB/FSS inviting States parties to answer a questionnaire and share information on best practices and challenges regarding the protection of reporting persons, with a view to develop the international study.
