The Regional Anti-Corruption Platform for the Pacific brings together anti-corruption practitioners across the region, facilitating the sharing of experiences to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
The platform’s founding document is the Teieniwa Vison, which was adopted in February 2020 at the first Pacific Regional Anti-Corruption Conference in Kiribati. It was formally endorsed in February 2021 by 18 Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders as a commitment of the Forum to progress Pacific unity against corruption. The Teieniwa Vision recognizes corruption as a significant obstacle to progress and emphasizes the need for collective anti-corruption efforts.
Building on the Teieniwa Vision, the Teieniwa Vision Implementation Matrix was adopted in November 2022, following consultations with all PIF Members led by the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS) with support from UNODC. To oversee its implementation, a task force was established at the 52nd PIF Leaders Meeting in Cook Islands in November 2023. The taskforce, supported by PIFS and UNODC as its secretariat, met for the first time in March 2024 and now convenes on a bimonthly basis.
