The Regional Anti-Corruption Platform for South America and Mexico brings together public officials across the region, facilitating the sharing of experiences to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and regional instruments such as the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (IACAC).
The platform was launched in May 2019 at a regional conference in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, that resulted in the adoption of recommendations on fast-tracking the implementation of the Convention. In March 2022, a second regional conference was convened in Mexico City, Mexico, to take stock of the work done and adopt a new three-year road map as a guiding framework to advance anti-corruption efforts in the region. Civil society and the private sector were involved in the discussions that led to the road map’s development. The South America and Mexico platform is expected to meet in 2025 to review progress and update the roadmap for 2025 -2027.
