Report of the International Narcotics Control Board for 2010

Gary Lewis, Regional Representative for East Asia and the Pacific:
We are pleased to provide you with a copy of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) report for 2010.

It was just launched, today, in UNODC Headquarters, Vienna.

The report highlights the role of corruption in drug trafficking, the need for medicines to be available for all and presents regional developments. For East and South-East Asia the report points out that progress in reducing opium production is under threat and that increased trafficking, manufacture and abuse of synthetic drugs are of paramount concern. It also warns us that amphetamine-type stimulants (primarily methamphetamine) and opioids and cannabis continue to be widely used in East and South-East Asia.

We hope that you find the report to be of interest.
