International Academic Conference on Linking Organized Crime and Cybercrime 2018

 

The International Academic Conference on "Linking Organized Crime and Cybercrime 2018" was held in Chuncheon, Republic of Korea, on 7-8 June 2018. The conference, sponsored by UNODC under its Education for Justice Initiative and hosted by Hallym University, aimed to produce novel insights into the linkages between cybercrime and organized crime, including trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants. Participants were selected through a competitive process and based on the research they submitted on the topic. This two-day event explored existing and emerging linkages between cybercrime and organized crime and produce material for tertiary level education in an effort to support academics in their teaching on these issues. Furthermore, the research presented at the conference will be published in a compendium of papers.
