يروج مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة أيضاً بانتظام للاتفاقية الدولية لقمع أعمال الإرهاب النووي في عدة محافل دولية ويقدم عروضاً إيضاحية بشأنها، بما في ذلك في الفعاليات التي تنظمها المبادرة العالمية لمكافحة الإرهاب النووي، والوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية، والمبادرة المتعلقة بالتهديد النووي، وشبكة "برلمانيون من أجل التحرك العالمي"، ولجنة مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة المنشأة عملاً بالقرار 1540 (2004)، ومركز فيينا لنزع السلاح وعدم الانتشار، ضمن جهات أخرى.

On 17 October, UNOCT launched a new global project on promoting the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT), which is jointly implemented with UNODC and funded by the European Union (EU). The high-level launch event was held in New York on the margins of the First Committee of the General Assembly. Read more >
On 19 June 2023, a side event organized by the EU, UNOCT, and UNODC showcased progress made under the ongoing ICSANT project (January 2019 - June 2023), outlining future priorities for the forthcoming project (July 2023 - June 2026) centered on universalizing and effectively implementing ICSANT; The event emphasized the importance of multilateralism and nuclear security with around 110 participants attending in-person and online. On 14 June 2023, UNOCT concluded the National Advocacy Event with members of the National Assembly of Togo, focusing on promoting universalization and effective implementation of ICSANT. Read more >

UNOCT, UNODC and the European Union in collaboration with Italy, the Kingdom of Morocco, and the United States, organized the three-day Mediterranean (MED) Trident Tabletop Exercise and workshop on nuclear detection and forensics on 11 November 2022, in Rome, Italy. Read more >
On 3 August 2022, UNOCT and the European Union organized a high-level side event during the Tenth Review Conference of the NPT, bringing together international organizations, UN agencies, and over 200 Member States to discuss promoting adherence to the Convention and share perspectives on ICSANT's implementation and its contribution to nuclear security. The deposit of the instrument of ratification took place during a ceremony organized by the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs at the United Nations Treaty Section in New York on 29 June 2022. Dr. Jehangir Khan, Director of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) of UNOCT attended the event on behalf of Mr. Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of UNOCT and Executive Director of UNCCT. On 16 June 2022, UNOCT organized high-level meetings with Albanian officials during Mr. Raffi Gregorian, Director and Deputy to the Under-Secretary-General at UNOCT, visit to Tirana, including with the State Minister for Relations with the Parliament, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, and the Head of the Majority Party, to promote the ratification of ICSANT.
