Australian Embassy Supports Alternative Livelihood Programme of UNODC Iran

 

 

16 December 2018 - UNODC Iran Country Representative, Mr. Alexander Fedulov and     H. E. Mr. Ian Biggs, Australian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran signed an agreement for receiving financial support from Australian Embassy on UNODC Iran Country Partnership Programme, Sub-programme 4 "Alternative Livelihood and Sustainable Development".

In this meeting Mr. Fedulov introduced UNODC Iran's activities as an opportunity to empower and provide support to vulnerable groups at border areas through implementation of proposed activities under Alternative Livelihood and Sustainable Development sub-programme. He also elaborated on the other possible areas of cooperation between UNODC Iran and Australian Embassy during the meeting and discussed the potential areas of activity.

H. E. Mr. Biggs, Australian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed his interest to consider cooperation with UNODC in Iran on drug control subjects.
Holding of a briefing session by head of UNODC alternative development research teams for the donor to the project, members of Mini Dublin Group and selected members of foreign missions in Tehran is among the activities to be implemented under this agreement with generous Australian financial support for Alternative Livelihood schemes.
