UNODC Iran Representative and Chief of Islamic Republic of Iran Cyber Police meet, highlight the need to enhance cooperation

 

Tehran, 8 May 2018 - Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Cyber Police, Brigadier General Seyed Kamal Hadiyanfar, and UNODC Iran Country Representative, Alexander Fedulov, met at the margins of the opening session of the 6 th EURASIA Working Group Meeting on Cybercrime for Heads of Units.

Two sides acknowledged successful achievements of previous collaborations under the UNODC Iran Country Partnership Programme (2016-2019), and agreed on expanding cooperation against transnational organized crime in relations to trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants; anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism; and acts of corruption on cyber platforms.

UNODC Iran and Iran Cyber Police further underlined the importance of promoting and applying crime prevention policies and improving accessibility to latest United Nations and international knowledge, experience and good practices.

The 6 th EURASIA Working Group Meeting on Cybercrime for Heads of Units was opened by the statement of Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari, Chief Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police, and held a number of high-tech working sessions from 8 to 10 May, in Tehran.
