Santos Customs locates 720 kg of cocaine

On Monday, August 19, the IRS Customs Office in the Port of Santos intercepted 720 kg of cocaine hidden in two containers destined for Europe.
Santos Customs teams, through a risk analysis work, making use of non-invasive images obtained by scanning containers and using beagle dogs, selected some loads for physical inspection.
During this work, two cargo units contained signs of contamination, including positive signaling from Unit beacons.
In the first container, a load of orange essential oil, 15 tissue pockets containing cocaine tablets were found. The total, plus tablets, was 446 kg of the drug.
In the second, a consolidated cargo (from several exporters), six bags were found, totaling 274 kg.
Both containers were destined for the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
The drug intercepted by the IRS was handed over to the Santos Federal Police Station, which will proceed with the investigation, based on information obtained by Customs.
