Short description:
The APECOS (Association for care of orphans of AIDS) is an NGO founded in 1993 by Burundi, to help children orphaned by AIDS. For twelve years, APECOS find sustainable responses to the needs of AIDS orphans by focusing inclusion in foster care, schooling, psychological support and economic support towards financial independence.

Currently, APECOS is present in three countries (Burundi, Rwanda and Congo) through three separate associations.
The APECOS is present in Bujumbura (its headquarters) and in several regions where it has established branches, Kirundo, Cibitoke, Bubanza and Cyangugu.
On the other hand APECOS is present in Rwanda (Kigali) and Congo-DRC (Bukavu and Uvira) through associations of local law.
