||DOST Welfare Foundation was established in August 1992 in order to combat the increasing problem that Pakistan is facing regarding drug use and other related problems. DOST provides a comprehensive range of drug demand and drug harm reduction services for drug users in different community settings. They also work for human rights protection, and for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of destitute street children, juvenile offenders and women and minor children in prisons. All DOST programmes are based on human rights protection of marginalized groups such as
drug users, street children, juvenile offenders, women and minors in prisons. The organisation enables these vulnerable groups to explore the underlying factors of their drug misuse, marginalisation and imprisonment and come to terms with past traumatic experiences. They facilitate training in life and social skills and reintegration into the community and society.
