Short description:
The Challenge Foundation is not only involved in the prevention of drug usage and addiction amongst urban youth (ages 14-29), but also with the increased awareness of HIV/AIDS and assistance. This is achieved through a mixture of educational lessons in local schools and psychological consulation and support.
Their mission is to increase HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention of drug usage in the young people of Pavlodar. Public Foundation Challenge has been operating under this mission since 2003, focusing on providing psychological support for drug users and HIV/AIDS positive people and family. The NGO has created publications with information and anecdotal stories that highlight the problems associated with drug usage and addiction. Additionally, Challenge has provided psychological consulation and given lessons on HIV/AIDS and healthy lifestyles in local schools and has held multiple public awareness events in city night clubs and public parks (recognizing World AIDS Day, Candle of Hope Memorial Day and Anti-Drug Day). Challenge has also attended international HIV/AIDS and drug prevention conferences in Almaty and Amsterdam in the past.
