Short description:
AJEM works besides the persons incarcerated at the central prison of Roumieh and their families. The services offered by AJEM 's team for all the prisoners are: reception of new arrived prisoners, social assistance for their individual or domestic problems, juridical assistance (advising, teaching of rights and law procedures, directing towards judicial help, intervening besides the juridical authorities, etc.), health assistance (nursing care, health measures education, medical consulting, delivery of medicines, hygiene of the premises and fitting out, taking charge of the administrative health side: elaborating the medical file, charts of follow-up, etc.) and psychological assistance. The spiritual assistance was stopped because it was taken into charge by another association.

These services are applicable in the different programs implemented by AJEM:
- Program for drug users incarcerated.
- Program for migrants foreigners.
- Program for prisoners politicians.
- Program of read and write teachings.
- Program for families help.
- Program for prevention of AIDS
- Program of struggle for the abolition of death penalty.
- Program of struggle against arbitrary detentions.
- Research program.

Without any discrimination, as for confessional, community, ethnic or national belonging of condemned, AJEM clings to the promotion of rights, occupies itself to favour their social and professional reinsertion, works to ameliorate the detention conditions and watches over the application, in jail, of principles promulgated by the charter of Human Rights. Also, AJEM watches over to weave the links between the prisoners and their families and to accompany the families in this difficult stage.
