|Eye of the Child aims to promote and protect child rights in Malawi, especially for those who suffer from sexual exploitation, HIV/AIDS, crime, poverty and homelessness. Eye of the Child also encourages young peoples' participation in this process through lobbying, advocacy, and other programmes. This is achieved by encouraging young people to voice their concerns on issues that affect them in this field. As part of its mandate, Eye of the Child advocates and monitors the implementation of the Convention on the rights of Children and other related international human rights conventions and national laws, acting as a counselling unit for young people. It organizes meetings with local and international individuals and organizations in order to exchange information and plan joint projects. Moreover, it works with the press to speread its message, and lobbies governments and the United Nations on relevant issues.
