Short description:
RNS is a democratic popular movement which was started by a Swedish physician, Nils Bejerot, in 1969 and has since then worked in Sweden for a society free from illicit drugs. RNS’s sees its primary task to build up public opinion in support of a restrictive narcotics policy. This implies that all abuse of narcotic substances should be opposed. Preventive anti-abuse measures are important, as is early and consistent intervention where abuse does occur: Best of all, of course, is if young people can be persuaded never to start taking narcotics in the first place.

RNS arranges courses and seminars. A large number of experts throughout the country, linked to the organisation, are available for lecturing on a wide variety of subjects. These include addiction, narcotic substances, drugs policy, treatment of offenders, legislation, local anti-drug initiatives, and drugs in the workplace. Our magazine “Narkotikafragan” appears bimonthly
