Short description:
The Human Rights and Development Trust of Southern Africa, HURIDETSA’s focus is to promote human rights, democracy and good governance in the southern African region through mainstreaming these into public institutions. HURIDETSA has been working with anti-corruption agencies within the southern African region supporting their forum called the Southern African Forum Against Corruption. The forum seeks to support the implementation of the SADC Protocol against Corruption that was drafted in line with UNCAC and AU Convention on Corruption. HURIDETSA has supported and coordinated regional trainings for the agencies in investigation, prevention and public education, considering that most of the agencies have adopted the three-pronged approach to fighting corruption. HURIDETSA works to support the harmonization of anti-corruption legislation within SADC and create an enabling environment for mutual legal assistance and extradition amongst SADC states and beyond.
