Short description:
SHERPA is a Paris-based non profit legal organization that aims to protect and defend the
victims of economic crimes in developing countries, namely communities who are the victims of the development failures caused by illicit capital flows. Sherpa brings together international jurists and lawyers in order to find concrete remedies to human rights violations. Its conception of human rights is broad and includes poor working conditions, and environmental violations, as well as massive corrupt practices and allied offences that undermine the development process of developing countries. Sherpa is currently preparing a comparative survey of sixteen northern countries regarding the issue of stolen assets. Sherpa is an active member of the Coalition of the Civil Society Friends of the UNCAC which advocates for the implement of a proper review mechanism of the Merida Convention.
