Short description:
Institut Perempuan (Women Institute) is as a non-partisan women non-profit organization, independent from the influence of state power which focuses on changing and improving the situation of women and children. The organization progressively promotes a strong human rights culture where there is no discrimination and human rights violations, especially for those who are vulnerable and marginalized. Therefore, Institut Perempuan gives special attention to women, children, poor, minority group, rural, disable, lesbian and indigenous people. In all their work, they use human rights perspectives integrated with gender aspects.

Their vision is to establish a women’s movement as an important part of the civil society movement to help create an Indonesian society which is fair, equal and humane. Institut Perempuan's mission is giving its best efforts to advocate women’s rights through women movement in order to create justice, equality and humanity in civil society. Their main issues are women’s equality and women’s human rights and the objective is to establish the women movement as an important part of the civil society movement working towards the transformation of Indonesia society and to create a society in which women’s movement is important in people's lives.
