Short description:
The Movement for Youth and Children’s Rights and the people of Mamaka Village, Roportka Village and Royanka Village has started up a small agricultural project called the MYCR Self Help Agricultural Project. This initiative was developed by the coordinator of MYCR Sierra Leone. The scope of the project is to help children who are in desperate need of school materials, school fees, and school furniture. MYCR will provide a bag of peanuts and a bag of coins for this project and the people of these villages will do the labor and cover all other local expenses. This project will cultivate crops on the land provided for MYCR which, after three months, will be harvested and sold by the community’s appointed persons. These funds will be presented to MYCR Sierra Leone and will be used to bring school materials to these villages’ underprivileged children. MYCR wants the people of these communities to be responsible and self-reliant and secondly, we want to keep the MYCR land clean and in use.
