||The mission of our NGO includes rendering assistance to persons suffered from all forms of violence and human trafficking, preventing all forms of violence and human trafficking, preventing the growth of the number of disabled persons as a result of acts of violence and human trafficking, andraising public awareness of the problems of violence and human trafficking.
The Center for Assistance to Victims of Violence and Human Trafficking is a non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 1999. The Center is currently working in several regions of Russia, including Perm, Moscow, Saratov, Stavropol, Udmurtia (Izhevsk), and Vladivostok.
It has successfully implemented more than 30 projects on preventing human trafficking, developing assistance programs for trafficked persons, and promoting interagency cooperation in the sphere of combating of human trafficking, including as follows:
•Empowering Civil Society Organizations of Migrants and Ethnic Minorities in the Russian Federation (since 2010).
•Human Rights Education Program for Police and Public Order Squads (since 2009).
•Prevention of Child Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children (since 2008).
•Community Policing: Development of NGO-Police Partnership on Combating Domestic and Community Violence (2006-2008).
•Supporting the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Combating with Human Trafficking (since 2004).
•Prevention of Trafficking in Women in Perm Region, Komi Permian Autonomous District, and the Republic of Udmurtia (2001-2004).
•Strengthening of Cooperation of Health Care Establishments and NGOs in the Sphere of Prevention of Violence Against Women (2001-2004).
•Human Trafficking Public Awareness Campaign in Perm Region, Komi Permian Autonomous District, and the Republic of Udmurtia (2000-2004).
•Monitoring of Economic and Social Human Rights in Perm Region (2002-2003).
•Multimedia Teaching of Human Rights in Secondary Schools of Russia (2002-2003).
•Prevention of Violence Against Women: Implication for NGOs (1999-2003).
It has published about 50 books, handbooks, and brochures on the issues related to human trafficking, with the total circulation of more than 100,000 copies.
The organization has official collaboration agreements with the Perm Regional Police Department, Perm City Militia Squads, Perm Police Training Center, Berezniki Police Training Center, Perm Police College, Vladivostok Police Academy, Stavropol Police Academy, Saratov Police Law Academy, and Izhevsk Police Training Center.
It has strong working connections with the Perm Regional Government, state and municipal social services, Ombudsman institutions, and other relevant governmental bodies.
The Center is member of the Russian Interagency Anti-Trafficking Working Group, created by the Russian Parliament in 2002, NGO Work Group on Police Reform (since 2009)
