Short description:
People Against Drug Dependence and Ignorance was established in response to the status Nigeria had attained, globally, with regard to issues of illicit dug trafficking and growing incidents of substance abuse locally. PADDI works to strengthen the efficacy of local legislations and advocacy towards domesticating international instruments and best practices amongst the populace and policy makers in Nigeria, and thwart the various ramifications of corruption which emanate as a result of drug trafficking and its allied vices, such as human trafficking, money laundering, piracy, and other organized crimes. From the outset PADDI aimed to stem, and ultimately eradicate the twin societal scourges of ignorance and substance abuse. It focuses its activities on the youth, who constitute the most impressionable segment of society and thus highly susceptible to negativism.
