||Recent disasters in Nigeria have demanded immediate reaction where International capacity-building mechanisms would be created. The NGO acted to substantially reduce disaster risk and improve communities' resilience to disaster through Views from the Frontline (VFL) - a flagship of the Global Network for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) implemented in Nigeria by the African Youth Movement (AYM) as Country Coordinator. The NGO has been active in the MDGs campaign since 2004 through workshops and campaigns targeted at youth involvement. AYM was elected and represented the Global Youth Forum at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg discussing issues of youth education, employment and safety with heads of governments at the forum. In August 2004, the NGO trained young people on interventions for a safe environment using water pollution as an index, a project accepted and presented at the 2004 Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition in Stockholm, Sweden.|
