Short description:
LSM GAPP is an NGO for women’s human rights in Indonesia. The organisation aim to eliminate all forms of trafficking in needy women and girls by influencing the public policy while supporting appropriate measures that enable needy women and girls to fully enjoy a life free of all forms of trafficking.
Until December 2011 LSM GAPP had:
• Advocated 11 local parliaments around Indonesia vulnerable to human trafficking in preparing legal drafts of anti human-trafficking;
• Provided essential training courses to increase the professionalism of over 1,600 needy women and girls from around Indonesia for better jobs at local, national and international levels;
• Facilitated over 3,500 needy women and girls from east Indonesia to run sustainable livelihoods such as beekeeping, aquarium fish collection, and jatropha plantation for bio-fuels; and
• Foiled over 53 human-trafficking efforts and consequently saved over 3,000 vulnerable women and girls, primarily with enormous financial support from Piara Foundation (Holland), Front Line (Ireland), Urgent Action Fund (USA), and Global Fund for Women (USA).
