Short description:
Ashah Rayzn Foundation (ARF) is a body corporate established under the laws of Uganda. ARF was established to promote quality legal assistance to indigent and vulnerable people. This was upon realization that the majority of Ugandans live in extreme poverty and worsened by lack of access to justice. ARF therefore, seeks to make public justice systems work for victims of abuse and oppression that urgently need to benefit from the rule of law. In our programs, we work with other stake holders in spearheading the various state human rights obligations of respect, fulfilling and protection towards citizens enjoying their human rights and needs.
ARF lawyers and social workers intervene in individual cases of abuse in partnership with state, Civil Society Organizations, line ministries, policy makers, the academia, development partners, local authorities and other stakeholders. ARF determines the specific source of corruption, lack of resources and good will in the system denying victims the protection of their legal rights.
Virtually, the founder aimed at creating a unified voice to challenge the marginalized people in the selected areas of operation, embark on a systematic and long drawn out struggle to gradually unleash their enormous productive potential from bondage that reduced them to sub – humans and instead be active participants even at international level in regard to respecting their human rights, access to justice and achieving sustainable development while improving their livelihoods.
