Short description:
POWEF is a membership NGO with a mission to promote quality of life of women, children, young people and other vulnerable population across Nigeria.
POWEF has trained over 200 inmates of Nigerian Prisons Services (NPS) in Osun State, Nigeria through the project: Positive Learning and Active Citizens Empowerment Project (PLACE). The project is aimed to develop qualities of good citizenship, psychological well being and rehabilitation of inmates and drug addicts in correctional and rehabilitation facilities. Also, POWEF has trained over 112 student leaders through Young Leadership Development Program (YLDP). The training covers issues of leadership, child rights, delinquency, drug abuse and prevention education. POWEF is linking youth who are vulnerable to psychoactive drugs abuse and antisocial behaviors to empowerment and social support services.
