Short description:
Khulani Development Organisation was formed on 3rd September 2013 due to the increase of drug related incidents in our schools, as well as the lack of suitable life orientation and skills development being offered to our learners in the rural and urban schools.
The mission and purpose of Khulani Development Organisation is to:
- Assist with the education of community members and learners with regards to substance abuse awareness and the long-term consequences of using addictive substances and how it impacts on their lives and futures. i.e. HIV/AIDs/STDS/TB, teenage pregnancy, low academic marks, violence against women and children, drug dealing/crime etc.
To enable the youth to be actively involved in finding solutions to the problems associated with illegal drugs.
- To identify skills, traits, abilities, talents and strengths (STATS) of affiliated youth.
- To build up the learners’ self-esteem and self-confidence and empower them to say NO to peer pressure and drugs, as well as improve on their academic achievements.
