Short description:
UTRIP is a non-governmental and non-profit research institute. The scope of its work includes youth risk behaviour, alcohol, tobacco and illicit drug policies, addiction prevention, health education and promotion and advocacy. The institute is involved in several initiatives, co-financed by the European Commission and Slovenian government. UTRIP is a member of several networks, such as Civil Society Forum on Drugs (CSF), European Society for Prevention Research (EUSPR), Science for Prevention Academic Network (SPAN) or European Alcohol Policy Network (APN). UTRIP is a national centre for school-based prevention programme “Unplugged”, family-based prevention programme “The Strengthening Families Program” (SFP) and school-based prevention programme for parents “Effekt”. It also leads a national network of NGOs in the field of prevention »Prevention platform«, which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and also provides education and training for professionals, researchers and volunteers.
