||Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE) is a Non Governmental and not-for-profit making organization. It was established in March 1997. It was formed with the aim of addressing the plight of the youth, orphans and other vulnerable children. CYECE’s main objective is twofold: first to empower young people with knowledge and skills in order for them to positively meet the challenges related to their Sexual and Reproductive Health and to empower them to participate actively in the entrenchment and sustainability of Human Rights and Good Governance. CYECE work in Lilongwe, Kasungu, Dedza, Mchinji and Mangochi districts.
The vision of CYECE is “a Malawian Society where Children and Young People are protected, Healthy and Safe” and our Mission is “To promote children’s rights, Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Youth Empowerment through Capacity Building, Advocacy, Community Mobilization and Communication for positive Social and Behaviour Change.” One of the main aspects of CYECE's strategy is awareness campaign. These are organized meeting where different activities are performed in line with a particular subject matter and raise awareness on that issues for people to take necessary measure to curb the problem at hand like for example dangers of using substances and drugs among the young people.
