Short description:
Their goal is a world free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery.
Main activities:
Freeland is dedicated to making the world free of human slavery and wildlife trafficking by increasing law enforcement capacity, supporting vulnerable communities and raising awareness. Freeland work includes providing training courses for law enforcement, creating technology, increasing awareness through video and traditional media and supporting regional networks through mentoring and workshops.
Main achievements:
Freeland was an instrumental in the dismantling of an Uzbek human trafficking ring and as part of the counter-wildlife trafficking program ARREST. Freeland reached over 740 million people through awareness campaigns, improved the capacity of 800 key officers from 300 government agencies in 20 countries and secured a commitment by 10 ASEAN nations to own and sustain ASEAN-WEN.
