The NGO “Drug Addicts Detoxification and Rehabilitation Society”, called after the Chitral valley of Pakistan, is closely working with UNODC. In 2003, under the project PAK/F50 “Establishment of Network of drug Treatment Centers”, UNODC started drug treatment and rehabilitation services, which were carried out in collaboration with this organization. The NGO not only upgraded its drug treatment center at Chitral with an additional range of services, including assessment, motivation, after care and relapse prevention, but also provided home detoxification in the remote areas of the valley. In one year, this NGO provided drug treatment services to 144 clients, 29 of which were female.
