Call for applications to participate in the second Hackathon for Justice in Nigeria

On 8-9 February 2020, Facebook, Andela, and UNODC will come together in Lagos to host the annual Hackathon for Justice. At this hackathon, young Nigerians passionate about coding, peace and justice will have the opportunity to build projects that demonstrate how technology can help achieve global goals and tackle rule of law issues.

This is the second hackathon for justice organized in Nigeria. In March 2019, 50 participants divided into 13 teams were tasked with finding an innovative technological solution to various rule of law issues. The winning entry was a web application from a University of Lagos team, named Let's Fight Trafficking (designed to help educate about and find human trafficking victims). It earned its designers the coveted position of mentors of participants at the global Hackathon for Justice, co-organized with technology giant Google at their Silicon Valley headquarters.

Applications for the 2020 Hackathon for Justice are open to currently enrolled university students studying computer science or a related field with proficiency in English language. Application deadline is 19th January 2020 (midnight GMT).
