On 20 November, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Regional Office for Central Asia is holding the Annual Programme Steering Committee Meeting of the UNODC Programme for Central Asia 2022-2025 (in a hybrid format) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The meeting is co-hosted by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and gathers over 60 high-ranking officials from the Central Asian countries, representatives of international organizations, donor community and key partner organizations.
Mr. Bo Mathiasen, Officer-in-Charge, Division for Operations, UNODC Vienna, and Mr. Nurbek Abdiev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic will address the participants of the event.
The country representatives will review the achievements of cooperation in 2023, and endorse the work plans for 2024 on
1. Countering Transnational Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking
2. Criminal Justice, Crime Prevention and Anti-corruption
3. Drug Prevention, Treatment and Reintegration and HIV Prevention
4. Preventing and countering terrorism, violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism
5. Research and Trend Analysis, advocacy and evidence-based policy-making
