CCP training in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo, September 24, 2021. The Global Container Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the World Customs Organization conducted a training session aimed at 20 analysts from the Directorate General of Customs on topics such as risk indicators, human rights, among others.

The workshop - which took place from September 16 to 23 - was organized in coordination with the Directorate of Security and Defense of the Vice Ministry for Multilateral Foreign Policy Affairs and the Institute for Higher Education in Diplomatic and Consular Training (INESDYC).

The closing remarks of the course and the presentation of certificates to the participants on behalf of Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez, were made by Ambassador Jose Rafael Espaillat, rector of INESDYC and Ambassador Ramon Quiñones, director of security and defense of the Vice Ministry of Foreign Policy Affairs of MIREX.

Mr. Alvarez thanked Mr. Nicolas Cole, regional coordinator of the container control program; Mr. Alberto Arean Varela, regional coordinator for the Caribbean and Mr. César Schiffino, trainer and representative of the World Customs Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean for the trust placed in INESDYC.
