El Salvador, 12 October 2020. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN) through the Global Programme on Cybercrime delivered a training in cybercrime and digital evidence acquisition for the members of the National Civil Police Criminal Analysis Unit.
In this 17-hour training, analysts were introduced to concepts such as the dark web, cryptocurrencies, and the internet of things. Moreover, practical skills were developed, such as using open source intelligence tools, acquiring digital evidence from computer and mobile devices, as well as requesting evidence from foreign electronic service providers.
This training was possible thanks to the funding from the Canadian and Norwegian Governments to UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime.
