MINED & UNODC Introduce Courses to Prevent Cybercrime in Schools in El Salvador.
Teachers and coordinators from informative classrooms, from the Westside zones and Eastside zones of the country, finalized the course "
Train the trainer course for teachers on cybercrime prevention in El Salvador".
The Minister of Education along with the Vice Minister of Science and Technology, and the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC) work together in solidarity in order to strengthen teachers capacity of knowledge regarding the Prevention of Cybercrime within the classrooms of El Salvador.
This informative process was introduced from the 4th to the 6th of June in Santa Ana, counting with the participation of 33 teachers from the westside sector of the country; while in San Miguel the process was introduced the 11th to the 13th of June with another 33 teachers from the Eastside sector of the country.
These informative initiatives have the objective to strength the knowledge regarding the proper use of internet and the rising phenom of crime that occurs via telephone against underage boys and girls and adolescents; we can endow professors with comprehensive educational games and tools in order to be more efficient in the understanding of these topics within the classroom environment.
Throughout the three days, there were a total of 66 participants with recognition within specific regions such as bettering abilities for boys and girls and adolescents regarding cybersecurity, internet privacy, cyberbullying, sexting, grooming, and sextortion. Identifying factors of risk and analyzing threats that exist within the interior of the internet, the knowledge of educational games, the establishment of activities of sensibility and prevention in order to bind for a secure technological purpose in which to become healthy and civil.
This project "Education for Justice- Prevention of cybercrime in the Central American Region" was successfully put together thanks to the generous financial backing of Qatar, in which was executed by the UNODC under the Doha Declaration, in which promotes equality, solidarity, and justice for all. The goal is to captivate the attention of the young audience willing to listen to promote a better change.
