Promoting a culture of peace among children in El Salvador

El Salvador, April 26, 2022. Through play, children can acquire values that allow them to live in harmony. This was the tool used during the visit to Cantón Ayuta in Santa Ana, municipality of Zacatecoluca, department of La Paz. Within the framework of the MOVEO Project and with the collaboration of FUNDASAL and Tin Marín Móvil, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Organization for Migration and the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) organized a visit to this locality to carry out playful activities with children from the hamlets of La Lucha, Atos de los Reyes, Las Lomitas and San Francisco los Reyes.
The main topic of the activities was the culture of peace through values such as respect, empathy, equality, tolerance and inclusion.

The project MOVEO - Youth in action: towards diversity without violence forging alliances for the construction of peace and justice in El Salvador aims to contribute to the social mobilization of young people in vulnerable conditions and survivors of gender-based violence.
This project is financed by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund.
