Protection guides for the National Civil Police of El Salvador

El Salvador, June 16, 2020. Law enforcement agencies are on the front line of response to the COVID-19 crisis. To help protect the units of the National Police of El Salvador, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN) has prepared practical guides to prevent the spread of the new virus.

The Orientation Guide for the protection of human talent of the National Civil Police in the face of the COVID-19 emergency is a document that will be distributed to all PNC units and dependencies. It addresses issues such as the definition, origin, symptoms and means of propagation of COVID-19; risk areas according to the type of police service and the respective protection measures.

The Action Guide of the Division of Victim and Witness Protection (DPVT) in shelters in the face of the COVID-19 emergency establishes the norms of strict compliance in shelters or safe houses where protected persons and those who are safe in the personal or residential mode are protected by the Division of Victim and Witness Protection of the PNC.
