Providing support for the social reintegration of prisoners in El Salvador

El Salvador, August 25, 2020. In order to improve the skills of the prisoners before their release, the UNODC ROPAN (Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean) made the donation of technological equipment to the General Directorate of Prisons: (2) projectors, (2) laptop computers, (2) multifunctional printers, (2) LED screens, (1) industrial scanner and (60) desktop computers.

These equipments will be used in the higher education centers of "Centro Preventivo y de Cumplimiento de Penas de La Esperanza" (343 prisoners) and "Centro de Readaptación de Mujeres de Ilopango" (235).
This grant was made possible by funds from the State of Qatar and technical assistance from ROPAN under the "Second Chance in Life" project.
