Those attending the forum signed a document in which they commit to harmonize or create national legislation or, failing that, generate through convention, actions to solve problems such as terrorism, money laundering, illegal migration of persons and human trafficking.
In addition, the document mentions that the signatories will facilitate cooperation between the member countries of the Joint Cross Border Intelligence Group GCIF to ensure effective exchange of information.
One of the objectives of this meeting is the adoption of national regulations on smuggling of migrants, based on the Protocol against the smuggling of migrants by land, sea and air, in the countries that are signatories to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime.
One of the pillars of the work of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is to assist States in the ratification and implementation of international treaties, as well as in the development of national legislation on drugs, crime and terrorism.
