Table top exercise to support the fight against Maritime Crime in the Caribbean

Barbados, March 15, 2020. The Maritime Crime Global Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime held a subregional Table top exercise on maritime crime in the Caribbean.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, examined scenarios for maritime law enforcement responses in time of natural disasters relief operations, as well as emergency health responses.

Was highlighted the need for regional solidarity and cooperation, as well as closer and more dynamic networks.

This activity took place at the headquarters of the Regional Security System (RSS) in Barbados which all seven member States attended represented by maritime law enforcers, legal advisors and prosecutors.

Various topics were raised, showing that there is a growing momentum towards cooperation in the region.
