Training in Investigation and Prosecution of Cybercrime in El Salvador
El Salvador, 26 June 2020. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN) through the Global Cybercrime Programme delivered training for prosecutors.
The objective of this three-week training was to develop prosecutors’ skills to effectively lead criminal investigations and prosecute cases that involve the use of digital technologies by criminals. Different topics such as cybercrime law, digital evidence, cryptocurrency, international cooperation mechanisms, and organized cybercrime were developed.
The training concluded with a mock where prosecutors’ knowledge and skills were applied in a real-life scenario.
This training has been made possible thanks to the funding from the Canadian and Norwegian governments to the UNODC Global Cybercrime Programme.
